Classroom Adventure Inc. took the stage at the "International Fact-Checking Day 2026" commemorative seminar held at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 2, 2026, hosting an interactive session for its game-based media literacy program, "Ray's Blog" (Rei no Blog). Through this event, organized by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) and Cofact Thailand, the company shared its international approach to combating the growing global risk of misinformation and disinformation.
The Escalating Global Risk of Misinformation and Disinformation
In recent years, the widespread use of social media and the rapid advancement of generative AI technologies have turned the spread of misinformation and disinformation into a severe social issue. In the World Economic Forum's Global Risks Report, "misinformation and disinformation" was ranked as the most severe short-term threat to the world for the second consecutive year. In Japan, false rumors have caused significant social disruption, such as fake rescue requests during the Noto Peninsula Earthquake that hindered actual lifesaving efforts. Young people, in particular, have been shown in Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications surveys to have a higher rate of spreading misinformation. There is an urgent need to foster literacy skills that empower individuals to question and verify the authenticity of information on their own.
Initiatives at the International Seminar in Thailand
The seminar was held under the theme "Lost in information: When Disinformation becomes a global risk," gathering numerous experts from Thailand and abroad. Classroom Adventure CTO Horiguchi spoke at a session titled "Reality Check VS Deepfakes from Gen A to BB." He pointed out the challenge that traditional, one-way awareness campaigns using posters and pamphlets struggle to resonate with digital natives. To address this, he shared the effectiveness of using gamification to foster a sense of personal ownership and engagement among participants.
Hands-On Fact-Checking Experience Through "Ray's Blog"
At the venue, the company also provided an interactive session for its flagship program, "Ray's Blog", a game designed to teach participants how to navigate information in the age of generative AI and social media. Immersed in the narrative, participants experienced practical fact-checking techniques, such as using reverse image search and map applications to pinpoint video filming locations, and identifying AI-generated text and images. Rather than simply imparting knowledge, the session offered a simulated experience of the three steps—"question," "investigate," and "judge"—providing an opportunity to actively promote critical thinking.
Future Outlook
Through speaking at the event and hosting the interactive session in Thailand, Classroom Adventure reaffirmed that its gamified educational approach is effective across borders. The company aims to transform learning into an engaging, thought-provoking, and practical experience, reaching demographics that traditional, one-way lectures have struggled to engage. Furthermore, Classroom Adventure will deepen its collaboration with educational institutions and partner organizations in Asia and around the world. In an era overflowing with information, the company remains committed to contributing to the global spread of education that empowers individuals to verify, think, and judge for themselves.
